Scallop Recipes

Scallops are known for their distinctive beautiful shells, their tender and sweet flavor, and soft texture. Scallop recipes can be found in most cuisines, especially where the scallop is found in surrounding waters. The subtle flavor of scallops is enjoyed raw as sashimi and sushi, and cooked in a variety of ways including grilling, roasting, pan-frying and steaming. Scallops are an excellent source of protein, vitamins, and minerals.

Scallops are generally prepared quickly over high heat, as the tender flesh requires little cooking time to prepare properly. Scallops are wonderful when lightly seasoned, cooked and served on their own. Scallops are found in first courses, soups, salads, side dishes, and entrees. Wonderful any time of the day, scallops are often served at brunch, lunch and dinner.
